ZSBPPO Nabs High-Value Drug Suspect, Seizes ₱680K Worth of Suspected Shabu and .45 Caliber Firearm in Naga Operation
Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay-The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office (ZSBPPO) has recorded another major breakthrough in its continuing campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms following the successful implementation of search warrants that led to the arrest of a High-Value Individual (HVI) and the confiscation of around 100 grams of suspected shabu and a firearm in Barangay Kaliantana, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the Naga Municipal Police Station (MPS) as the lead unit, in coordination with the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd PMFC), as part of the police force’s intensified intelligence-driven efforts to dismantle illegal drug activities and curb the proliferation of unlicensed firearms in the province.
Operating teams served two search warrants issued for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, in Barangay Kaliantana.
The operation resulted in the arrest of an adult male identified as a High-Value Individual, along with the recovery of the following items:
Two (2) large heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with an estimated total weight of 100 grams and an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱680,000.00; Several drug paraphernalia and other non-drug-related items; One (1) caliber .45 pistol; One (1) magazine for a caliber .45 pistol; and Seven (7) live rounds of caliber .45 ammunition.
ADVERTISEMENTThe arrested suspect was immediately brought to the Naga Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and further disposition. Meanwhile, the confiscated drug evidence will be presented before the issuing court as part of the return of the search warrants before being submitted to the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative examination.
ZSBPPO Provincial Director Police Colonel Barnard Danie V. Dasugo lauded the operating units for the successful operation, emphasizing the police organization’s unwavering commitment to intensifying efforts against illegal drugs and ensuring that loose firearms do not threaten public safety.
Dasugo underscored that the arrest of a High-Value Individual and the seizure of a significant quantity of suspected illegal drugs demonstrate the effectiveness of sustained intelligence gathering and coordinated law enforcement operations.
He further assured that ZSBPPO will continue strengthening its collaboration with partner agencies and communities to prevent criminal activities and maintain peace and security throughout Zamboanga Sibugay.
The police provincial office also called on the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting illegal activities in their respective communities.
ZSBPPO reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against illegal drugs, loose firearms, and other forms of criminality in pursuit of a safer, more secure, and drug-free Zamboanga Sibugay.
