Senior Citizens in Malangas Receive Cash Assistance Under National Cash Gift Program

Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay - A total of 12 senior citizens aged 80 and above in the Municipality of Malangas received ₱10,000 each under the Senior Citizens Cash Gift Distribution Program of the National Commission for Senior Citizens (NCSC), while a centenarian beneficiary was awarded ₱100,000 as part of the national government’s recognition and support for elderly Filipinos.

The payout activity was conducted through a coordinated effort between the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), led by Ma’am Jeanny Claire Dayonot; the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) headed by Ma’am Rose Yape; and Focal Person JezLouise Gonzaga, in partnership with the NCSC. The initiative also received full support from the Office of the Municipal Mayor under Mayor Apple Yambao.

The program aims to provide financial assistance and express gratitude to senior citizens for their lifelong contributions to their families and communities. It also underscores the government’s continuing commitment to the welfare and dignity of the elderly sector.

Local officials emphasized that the successful distribution reflects strong collaboration among national agencies and the local government, ensuring that benefits and services reach qualified beneficiaries in an efficient and orderly manner.

The Municipal Government of Malangas reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening partnerships with relevant agencies to further improve the delivery of programs and services for senior citizens, ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left behind.
