More Than 3,000 Join 'Dagan sa Kalampusan' as Rep. Doc Marly Hofer Hasim Marks First Year in Congress
IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay – More than 3,000 runners converged in Ipil on Wednesday as Second District Representative Marlyn 'Doc Marly' Hofer Hasim commemorated her first year in office with the Hapi and Healthy Fun Run: Dagan sa Kalampusan 2026, celebrating what she described as a year of shared achievements and continued public service.
The event, held exactly one year after Hasim assumed office as the representative of Zamboanga Sibugay's Second Congressional District, drew participants from across the district, turning the anniversary into both a community fitness activity and a thanksgiving celebration.
Addressing the thousands of participants, Hasim expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support shown by the public, saying the turnout reflected the trust and unity that have fueled her first year in Congress.
She emphasized that the celebration went beyond promoting an active lifestyle, describing the fun run as a tribute to the milestones achieved by the district through the collective efforts of its people.
According to the congresswoman, every accomplishment realized during her first year in office belongs not only to her but to every resident of the Second District who placed their confidence in her leadership.
Hasim said the projects implemented, assistance extended to patients, and visits to communities throughout the district served as reminders of the importance of responsive and people-centered governance.
While acknowledging that much work remains ahead, she noted that the gains made during the past year demonstrate what can be accomplished through cooperation between government and the communities it serves.

The congresswoman concluded her message by thanking the people of the Second District for the opportunity to serve, describing her first year in office as a shared accomplishment between her office and the constituents who have supported her initiatives.
She pledged to sustain the momentum of her programs and continue working toward a stronger, healthier, and more progressive Second District, reaffirming her commitment to what she called "Serbisyong Hapi ug Healthy" as she begins her second year in Congress.
