New Bridge in Barangay Concepcion Opens, Connecting Communities and Boosting Local Livelihoods
IPIL, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY - Residents of Barangay Concepcion are celebrating a major milestone with the completion of a new bridge connecting Purok 3 and 5 to Purok 6. The infrastructure project, described by locals as a "life-changing gift," was officially recognized this week as a vital link for education and the local economy.
The project was made possible through the leadership of Governor Ann K. Hofer, whose office provided the essential resources to address the long-standing transportation challenges in the area. Local leaders emphasized that the bridge is more than just a physical structure. it is a symbol of progress for the community.
The successful completion of the bridge is the result of a dedicated partnership between provincial and barangay officials. Barangay Captain Danilo Peñol, together with the Barangay Council, spearheaded the initiative to ensure the safety and mobility of their constituents.

Also, local farmers and small business owners now have a direct route to transport their products to market, reducing travel time and costs while increasing economic activity in the puroks.
"Dili ra ni tulay kung dili tulay kini para ma kab-ot ang mga pangandoy sa mga kabataan ga skwela, source kini sa pagpanginabuhi sa mga tawo para maka pagawas sa mga produkto," said Derwyn Peñol in a Facebook post. He is a local resident, echoing the community’s sentiment that the bridge is a pathway to achieving their dreams. (Translation: "This is not just a bridge; it is a bridge to reach the dreams of the children in school and a source of livelihood for people to transport their products.")
