M. Simon Hospital in Ipil No Longer PhilHealth-Accredited Effective June 8
IPIL, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY — PhilHealth members in Ipil and surrounding areas are being urged to check the accreditation status of hospitals before seeking medical treatment after the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Regional Office IX confirmed the termination of M. Simon Hospital’s PhilHealth accreditation.
Under PhilHealth PRO IX Advisory No. 2026-0002, M. Simon Hospital, situated along Gen. Malvar Street, Poblacion, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, ceased to be a PhilHealth-accredited facility effective June 8, 2026.
As a result, PhilHealth said it will no longer process, accept, or pay claims for confinement at the hospital beginning on the said date.
The development could have significant financial implications for patients who are admitted to the facility expecting their hospitalization expenses to be covered, in whole or in part, through PhilHealth benefits.

PhilHealth is therefore reminding members to confirm a healthcare facility’s accreditation before admission or treatment, particularly if they intend to avail themselves of insurance benefits.
The agency said members who want to verify or clarify the status of M. Simon Hospital may coordinate directly with the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Section (AQAS) of PhilHealth Regional Office IX.
The public may reach the AQAS at (062) 990-1436 or through aqas.pro9@philhealth.gov.ph.
PhilHealth's reminder also underscores the importance of obtaining updated information directly from the agency, as hospital accreditation status may change and information found in older directories, social media posts, or other online sources may no longer be current.
Patients and their families planning a hospital admission are encouraged to ask about PhilHealth accreditation and coverage before receiving services or being confined, allowing them to make informed decisions and prepare for any expenses that may not be covered by PhilHealth.
PhilHealth clarified through its advisory that the matter concerns the hospital's accreditation and eligibility for PhilHealth claims, and members with questions are advised to seek clarification from the agency's regional office.
