DOLE to Hold “Trabaho Agad” Job Fair for Independence Day and World Day Against Child Labor 2026
Thata ManlapazIPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay -The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Zamboanga Sibugay Field Office is set to roll out a series of programs and services, highlighted by the “Trabaho Agad” Job Fair, in celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day and the 2026 World Day Against Child Labor (WDACL).
The announcement was made during a press conference held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Sibugay Grand Plaza Hotel in Ipil. The activity was led by DOLE Provincial Director Elamsalih E. Ungad, together with other officials of the agency, to inform members of the media and the public about the lined-up activities.
According to DOLE, the June 12 celebration aims to bring together various government agencies to make services, livelihood opportunities, and employment programs more accessible to the public, particularly to workers, job seekers, families, and communities across the province.
Among the major highlights is the DOLE “Trabaho Agad” Job Fair 2026: Araw ng Kalayaan, which will offer numerous employment opportunities to applicants seeking immediate placement. A Kalayaan One-Stop-Shop will also be set up to provide faster access to various government services.

As part of its labor protection initiatives, DOLE will also conduct an information campaign on the updated minimum wage rates in Region IX, along with inspections in the construction sector to ensure the safety and welfare of workers.
The celebration will likewise incorporate activities for the World Day Against Child Labor, focusing on raising awareness and strengthening efforts to reduce and eliminate child labor. Included in the program is Project Angel Tree, which provides assistance to children affected by child labor.
In terms of livelihood support, DOLE will conduct TUPAD payouts for beneficiaries of its emergency employment program, as well as the ceremonial turnover of assistance under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program.
Additional activities aimed at food security and market support will also be featured, including the distribution of affordable rice under the “P20 Benteng Bigas Meron Na” initiative and the Kadiwa ng Pangulo display, which offers reasonably priced goods to the public.
DOLE Zamboanga Sibugay expressed optimism that through these initiatives, more Sibugaynons will benefit from employment opportunities, livelihood assistance, and strengthened labor protection services as part of the dual celebration of Independence Day and the World Day Against Child Labor 2026.
