PDEA-9 Arrests Zamboanga City Drug Suspect, Seizes ₱408,000 Worth of Shabu in Buy-Bust Operation
Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay- Authorities arrested a suspected drug personality and confiscated around 60 grams of suspected shabu worth approximately ₱408,000 during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 9 (PDEA RO9) in Sta. Barbara, Zamboanga City on July 19, 2026.
The operation, carried out at around 3:50 p.m., was led by the PDEA Zamboanga City Office with support from the PDEA Isabela City Office, PDEA Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Office, Tactical Support Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 (TSC RMFB 9), Zamboanga City Police Office–City Drug Enforcement Unit (ZCPO-CDEU), and the PNP 1st Zamboanga City Mobile Force Company.
Arrested was alias “Ejamen,” 40 years old, a habal-habal driver and resident of Barangay Zone 1, Zamboanga City, who was identified by authorities as the subject of the anti-illegal drug operation.

Recovered from the suspect were two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, with a total estimated weight of 60 grams and a standard drug value of ₱408,000.
Also seized during the operation were a bundle of boodle money topped with one genuine ₱1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, a yellow cellophane label, one Android mobile phone, and a black-and-gray motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspect.
PDEA said the suspect will face charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The inventory and documentation of the confiscated pieces of evidence were conducted in the presence of required witnesses from the media and an elected barangay official, in compliance with the provisions of Republic Act No. 9165.
PDEA RO9 reiterated its commitment to intensify operations against illegal drug activities across the region and urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts through the timely reporting of suspected drug-related activities.
