BFP-Zamboanga Sibugay Holds Turnover of Command as Fire Officials Take New Posts
IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay — The Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal (OPFM) of Zamboanga Sibugay held a turnover of command ceremony on September 24, 2026, marking the reassignment and designation of several Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel to new leadership positions.
The ceremony was held at 2 p.m. at the OPFM Conference Room, Capitol Building, Capitol Exit, Ipil Heights, Ipil, under the guidance of FSUPT Reggy A. Olmedo, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal of Zamboanga Sibugay.
The leadership transition involved personnel from several municipal fire stations in the province, as well as the OPFM, reflecting the BFP's continuing reorganization and deployment of officers to different assignments.
Among those reassigned was FCINSP Randall S. Carpio, who relinquished his post as Municipal Fire Marshal of the Buug Municipal Fire Station and assumed a new assignment as City Fire Marshal of the Dapitan City Fire Station under the Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal of Zamboanga del Norte.

FINSP Oscay Y. Maninang assumed the position of Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of the RT Lim Municipal Fire Station, taking over the leadership of the station.
Meanwhile, FINSP Wilfredo T. Casido Jr. relinquished his post as Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of RT Lim MFS and was designated as Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of the Buug Municipal Fire Station.
The transition also included changes at the Alicia Municipal Fire Station and the provincial fire marshal's office.
SFO4 Shellborn A. Lagar relinquished his post as Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of Alicia MFS to assume the position of Acting Chief Administrative Officer of the OPFM-Zamboanga Sibugay.
Taking over the leadership of Alicia MFS is SFO4 Lee Van B. Teves, who was designated as its new Acting Municipal Fire Marshal.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of continuity in leadership and the BFP's commitment to maintaining effective fire protection and emergency response services across the province.
During the ceremony, FSUPT Olmedo expressed his appreciation to the outgoing fire marshals for their leadership, dedication and support, noting their contributions to the accomplishments of BFP-Zamboanga Sibugay.
He also congratulated the newly designated officers as they assume their respective responsibilities, urging them to continue serving and protecting communities throughout the province.
The leadership changes come as part of the BFP's continuing effort to ensure that its fire stations are properly led and prepared to respond to fires, emergencies and other situations requiring the agency's services.
For the communities of Buug, RT Lim and Alicia, the transition marks a new chapter in local fire protection leadership, while the reassigned personnel bring their experience to their respective new posts.
