IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay - The Dr. George T. Hofer Medical Center (DGTHMC) in Barangay Tenan, Ipil, has announced that its Emergency Room has reached full capacity, prompting hospital authorities to temporarily limit the admission of new patients while ensuring the continued delivery of quality healthcare services.
In a public advisory, hospital management informed the public that the facility is currently operating beyond its normal capacity, particularly in the Emergency Room, making it difficult to accommodate additional patients safely and efficiently.
Chief of Hospital Dr. Sherwin Bastero said the decision was necessary to protect patient welfare and maintain healthcare standards amid the increasing number of individuals seeking medical attention at the provincial hospital.
According to hospital officials, patients requiring immediate medical care may be referred to other healthcare facilities when necessary to ensure they continue to receive appropriate treatment without delay.
Dr. Bastero acknowledged the public's preference for seeking treatment at the government-run hospital because of its affordable and accessible services, particularly for patients from low-income families. However, he stressed that patient safety and quality of care must remain the institution's top priorities.
