PRO9 Condemns Zamboanga City Shooting; Police Officer Officially Turned Over as Suspect

Maria, Zamboanga City, which left a uniformed personnel injured. The suspect, reportedly a police patrolman, was officially turned over to the Zamboanga City Police Office by his immediate superior, highlighting the commitment of authorities to accountability and transparency.
In a statement issued Friday, PRO9 strongly condemned the act of violence and assured the public that justice will be pursued fully if the allegations against the officer are proven true.
"We are conducting a thorough, impartial, and comprehensive investigation to swiftly locate, arrest, and hold the suspect accountable, ensuring that justice is served," the statement read.
The regional office reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct or criminal behavior within the police force.

"The PNP will not tolerate any form of misconduct or criminal behavior committed by any of its members," the statement continued. "Should the allegations be substantiated, appropriate criminal and administrative charges will be filed in strict accordance with existing laws, rules, and due process."
