Joint Intelligence Operation in Ipil Leads to Arrest of National Most Wanted Suspect

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay - A joint intelligence-driven operation conducted by law enforcement and military units in Ipil on Friday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a National Most Wanted Person linked to multiple cases of murder and frustrated murder.

At around 4:40 p.m. on January 24, 2026, personnel of the Ipil Municipal Police Station (MPS), serving as the lead unit, successfully carried out the operation at Purok China Harbor, Barangay Tiayon, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. The operation was conducted in close coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit of ZSBPPO, Regional Intelligence Division 9, 106th Infantry Battalion of the 1st Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, NICA Sibugay, Coast Guard Intelligence Unit–ZSP, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company of ZSBPPO, Tungawan MPS, RT Lim MPS, Kabasalan MPS, and the 903rd Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9.

The suspect, a resident of Barangay Datu Tumanggong, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay, was identified as the Top 2 National Most Wanted Person, Provincial Level Most Wanted under an E-warrant, and Top 4 Most Wanted Person at the municipal level, with a total monetary reward of ₱170,000.

The arrest was effected by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay for the crimes of Multiple Murder and Multiple Frustrated Murder, docketed under Criminal Case Nos. I-9060 and I-9061.

The arrested individual is currently under the custody of the Ipil Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.

In a statement posted on the official Facebook page of the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office, Provincial Director PCOL Barnard Danie V. Dasugo lauded the successful operation, citing it as a testament to the commitment, professionalism, and strong coordination among police units and partner agencies. He commended the personnel involved for their dedication and disciplined execution of an intelligence-driven operation.

PCOL Dasugo further assured the public that the police force remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the rule of law, ensure public safety, and bring fugitives to justice. “Together, through cooperation and vigilance, we will continue to keep our communities safe,” he said.
