A Renewed Vision for a United Mission: Marcelo Spínola School Unveils New Global Visual Identity
Marcelo Spínola School formally launched its new school visual identity on December 4, 2025, marking a historic milestone in the institution’s history. The updated visual identity replaces the school’s previous seal, which had been in continuous use for three decades, dating back to the establishment of the Spínola school in Ipil.
The development of the new branding was undertaken by the Communications Team of the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Divine Heart (Spinola Sisters) in Spain, composed of lay collaborators and the Spínola Sisters. This initiative reflects a unified and global effort to present a single, cohesive image for all Spínola institutions worldwide.
With this launch, Marcelo Spínola School aligns itself with Spínola schools in Spain, Japan, Brazil, Angola, and Ecuador, all of which are adopting the same visual identity.
During the ceremony, María Dolores González, Vicar General of the Congregation and Responsible for the Area of Mission, delivered a message from Spain. She emphasized that the unveiling of the new image is not merely a visual shift, but a reaffirmation of mission, unity, and identity for the entire Spínola Family.
“Today, our identity becomes visible in a special way with a new image for our School in Ipil,” González said, expressing joy over the shared celebration taking place across multiple countries.
She described the global Spínola community as being “woven into one single thread,” highlighting the sense of belonging and shared purpose that characterizes the Congregation.
González noted that the renewed identity reflects the school’s rootedness in its spiritual heritage, its commitment to responding to the needs of the present time, and its close connection to a broad international network of schools and apostolic works.
“We feel part of this universal mission that makes us family,” she added, affirming the unity that binds Spínola institutions worldwide. She concluded her message with gratitude: “Congratulations, and let us enjoy this word that identifies us: Spínola. A big hug from Spain.”
The launch of the new congregational visual identity reinforces Marcelo Spínola School’s commitment to its enduring mission and its strong ties to the global Spínola community.
“This is not a loss, this is a win. This is not forgetting, this is becoming more fully who we are,” Sister Elmor C. Balnig, ADC, the school’s directress stated in her address as she elaborates the meaning of the new school seal.”
As the school embraces this new visual identity, Marcelo Spínola School also honors the old seal that has been part of its story for more than three decades. The memories, values, and legacy carried by that seal remain deeply embedded in the school community.
Even with a new emblem, the institution continues to live its enduring mission—to share the personal love of Christ to all.
