Zamboanga City Clinches Historic Three-Peat as 22nd ZPRAA Meet Concludes in Isabela City

As the 22nd Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) Meet came to a close in Isabela City, one outcome was already clear-Zamboanga City once again dominated the competition, securing its third straight overall championship.

By 10:00 AM on April 11, even before the official closing rites, Zamboanga City had already locked in the title mathematically, completing a historic three-peat.

Zamboanga City Medal Tally: 148 Gold | 96 Silver | 92 Bronze | 336 Total Their performance highlighted consistency, depth, and excellence, setting a high standard for sports programs across Western Mindanao.

Second Place – ZANDIDAA (Zamboanga del Norte, Dipolog & Dapitan):

125 Gold | 119 Silver | 118 Bronze | 362 Total Despite earning the highest number of overall medals, they placed second since rankings are based on gold medal count.

Third Place – Zamboanga del Sur: 91 Gold | 103 Silver | 94 Bronze | 288 Total They delivered a strong and steady performance across both elementary and secondary divisions.

Beyond the competition, Isabela City, Basilan was praised for successfully hosting the event, welcoming thousands of participants and embodying this year’s theme, “Championing Unity and Peace Through Sports.”

From April 6 through the final awarding of medals, the 22nd ZPRAA Meet stood not just as a sporting event, but as a celebration of unity, resilience, and regional pride.
