Gun Attack in Bolong Leaves One Dead, Teen Injured in Sitio Tabuk

Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay – A shooting incident in Sitio Tabuk, Barangay Bolong late Saturday evening left one person dead and a 15-year-old boy wounded, prompting an ongoing police investigation into the attack.

Initial accounts from residents indicated that the victims, both reportedly from Sitio Pitas, Barangay Bolong, were riding a scooter-type motorcycle after coming from Barangay Sangali when they were ambushed at around 10:00 p.m.

Witnesses said they heard repeated gunshots before discovering the victims sprawled along the roadside, both suffering from gunshot injuries.

The minor was quickly brought by responding civilians to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. The other companion, however, succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet established the identities of the assailants or the motive behind the shooting. Police investigators have begun collecting statements from witnesses and are reviewing possible leads to help determine what led to the violent incident.

A full investigation is ongoing as law enforcement works to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
