Akbayan Partylist Rep. Dadah Kiram Ismula Returns Home to Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay, Visits Gary Granada Workshop in Malangas

Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay- Congresswoman Dadah Kiram Ismula, Akbayan Partylist representative, returned home this week to her roots in Naga-Naga Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay, receiving a warm welcome from local supporters and officials.

Joining her on the visit last Saturday, December 6, 2025 were Akbayan head in Zamboanga Sibugay, former Vice Governor and now 2nd District Board Member Atty. Eldwin Alibutdan, Ipil Sangguniang Bayan Member Iric Alibutdan, and Pangi, Ipil Barangay Captain Reynante Cainglet.

During the trip, Congw. Ismula and her team also visited renowned musician Gary Granada in Malangas, who was conducting a music workshop for local students and teachers. Granada, known for his socially conscious songs, has long-standing ties with Akbayan, sharing advocacy on community engagement and cultural development through music.

“This visit is not just about homecoming; it’s about connecting with initiatives that nurture our youth and strengthen community consciousness,” Congw. Ismula said during her visit to the workshop.

During her homecoming in Naga-Naga Alicia, Congw. Ismula met with residents, community leaders, and supporters, reaffirming her commitment to serving the people of Zamboanga Sibugay and promoting programs aimed at improving local infrastructure, social services, and development.

Local leaders emphasized the significance of the visit as a gesture of solidarity and continued partnership between national and local officials. Residents expressed appreciation for her accessibility and dedication to addressing the needs of her constituents.

Congw. Ismula also engaged the community in informal discussions, listening to concerns and suggestions while highlighting the importance of collective action and public participation in governance.

The visit renewed her ties to her hometown and further solidified partnerships with local leaders, national representatives. It was also a show of support to allies like Gary Granada, paving the way for sustained collaboration toward Zamboanga Sibugay’s development.
