RT Lim Vice Mayor Queenie Piodena Receives National SALUDO Award for Humanitarian Service

Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, April 17, 2026 - The Vice Mayor of RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay, Queenie Piodena, was honored with a national distinction after receiving the SALUDO Excellence Award for Outstanding Humanitarian and Community Service during the 10th Saludo Excellence Awards held in Manila.

The recognition marks Vice Mayor Piodena’s first national award, highlighting her long-standing commitment to public service, community development, and humanitarian efforts.

In a statement posted on her official Facebook account, Piodena expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a shared victory for the people of RT Lim. She also shared that she was unaware of who nominated her for the award. “Honored, humbled, and privileged to be recognized… This is our shared victory. RTLIM, aton ini bai! To God be the glory. Kong kinsa man nag-nominate sa akoa, daghang salamat sa pagsalig. Sumala sa staff, gikan kini sa DepEd. Ug sa tanan nga ni-vote, nag-comment, nag-like ug nag-share, daghang salamat. Ang Ginoo magabalos kaninyo sa pinilo-pilo,” she said.

Vice Mayor Piodena’s journey in public service spans various leadership roles, beginning as a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairman and later serving as SK Federation President. She went on to become a Punong Barangay and eventually President of the Liga ng mga Barangay, before assuming her current role as Municipal Vice Mayor of RT Lim. Beyond her local leadership, she also serves as Board Director of the Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines (VMLP) Region IX and the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) in Zamboanga Sibugay and Region IX.

Her professional background further reflects a diverse commitment to service. Piodena is a Registered Nurse, a Licensed Medical Doctor, and currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree. She also serves as President of the Zamboanga del Norte Medical Society and is an Army Reservist under the 904th Community Defense Center. Colleagues and constituents described her recognition as a testament to her dedication, leadership, and compassion in serving communities, both in governance and in the medical field.

The SALUDO Excellence Awards honors individuals across the country who have demonstrated exemplary contributions in public service, leadership, and community engagement, placing Vice Mayor Piodena among distinguished national awardees.
