Two Suspects Arrested, ₱20-M Worth of Shabu Seized in Zamboanga Buy-Bust
Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, April 24, 2026- Authorities arrested two individuals and confiscated an estimated three kilograms of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation along the San Roque–Cabatangan bypass road, marking a major anti-drug accomplishment in the city.
Operatives identified the suspects as a native of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, and a resident of Barangay Guiwan. Both were apprehended after allegedly transacting with an undercover officer during the operation.

Seized from their possession were approximately three kilograms of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu. According to initial police investigation, the suspects claimed they were only acting as couriers and were instructed by an individual they referred to as their “uncle” to deliver the illegal drugs. Authorities are now pursuing further leads to identify and locate the alleged source of the shipment.
The confiscated illegal substances have been turned over to the custody of the Zamboanga City Police Office for proper documentation and disposition, while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being prepared against the suspects.
Police officials said the successful operation underscores intensified efforts to curb the illegal drug trade in Zamboanga City, with further operations expected as part of ongoing enforcement campaigns.
