Leadership Transitions at the 904th CDC Highlighted in Change of Command Ceremony

IPIL, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY — A significant leadership milestone unfolded today at the 904th (Zamboanga Sibugay) Community Defense Center (CDC) as the unit held its Turn-Over of Command Ceremony at Camp Bayani P. Mendoza, Barangay Bangkerohan. The ceremony was presided over by COL ALFRED E. RAMONES, GSC (AGS) PA, Deputy Group Commander of the 9th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army.

During the ceremony, MAJ MARC ANTHONY S. ACLO (CE) PA formally relinquished his duties as Director of the 904th CDC. In his valedictory message, he conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the personnel, stakeholders, and partner institutions whose unwavering support contributed to the Center’s accomplishments under his leadership.

He emphasized that the successes of the 904th CDC were built on “collective effort strengthened by dedication, professionalism, and the steadfast support of its personnel and stakeholders.” He likewise expressed hope that the unit would continue to thrive as it supports the Philippine Army’s mission of empowering reservists and reinforcing community defense.

Assuming the mantle of leadership, MAJ JOVER S. ONDOY (INF) PA delivered an uplifting and principled address as the newly installed Director. He underscored the values of humility, teamwork, and resilience, encouraging everyone to treat challenges as opportunities for growth.

MAJ Ondoy urged the officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian staff to uphold the highest standards of military professionalism and unity. He called for strengthened collaboration in advancing the Center’s mandate of service to the community and the nation, anchored on integrity, commitment, and shared purpose.

Within the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Change of Command is a time-honored tradition symbolizing the orderly transfer of authority, responsibility, and accountability. It ensures continuity of leadership and the sustained readiness of units to fulfill their missions.

For the 904th Community Defense Center, today's transition reaffirms its dedication to enhancing the Reservist and ROTC programs and fortifying community-based defense initiatives across Zamboanga Sibugay and its partner institutions—ensuring that it remains a strong pillar of local security and civilian-military cooperation.
