Gov. Ann Hofer Honored by WESTMINCOM for Peace and Security Efforts in Zamboanga Sibugay
Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay -The Western Mindanao Command (WESTMINCOM) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines recognized the leadership and contributions of Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Dulce Ann K. Hofer for her continued support to peace, security, and inclusive development in the province.
The recognition was presented during the 20th Founding Anniversary of WESTMINCOM, held at Camp Don Basilio Navarro in Calarian, Zamboanga City, where representatives of partner local government units and government agencies gathered to commemorate two decades of the command's service in Western Mindanao.
Representing Governor Hofer during the anniversary celebration was Rodel Tubigon, Acting Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (PDRRMO) of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Tubigon received a Plaque of Recognition from WESTMINCOM on behalf of the provincial governor.
The award was presented under the leadership of Acting WESTMINCOM Commander Major General Jose Vladimir R. Cagara PA, alongside AFP Chief of Staff General Antonio G. Nafarrete PA.
The recognition highlighted Governor Hofer's exemplary leadership and steadfast commitment to peace, security, and inclusive development in Zamboanga Sibugay.
It also underscored the province's continuing partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other government agencies in addressing security concerns and strengthening community resilience.

Through sustained coordination between the Provincial Government and military and law enforcement units, the province has continued to support initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and order, advancing normalization efforts, and creating conditions conducive to development.
Tubigon said the recognition reflects not only the governor's leadership but also the collective efforts of government workers, security forces, local communities, and other stakeholders working toward a safer and more peaceful Zamboanga Sibugay.
The Provincial Government has emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing both traditional security concerns and emerging challenges, particularly those affecting vulnerable and geographically isolated communities.
The partnership with WESTMINCOM and the AFP likewise forms part of broader efforts to promote peace and stability while ensuring that security initiatives are complemented by programs aimed at improving the welfare and development of local communities.
For Zamboanga Sibugay, the recognition serves as an affirmation of the provincial government's continuing commitment to working with the military and other government institutions in pursuing peace, normalization, disaster resilience, and inclusive development.
Tubigon expressed appreciation to WESTMINCOM for the recognition and conveyed the provincial government's commitment to sustaining its partnership with the Armed Forces.
He said the Provincial Government of Zamboanga Sibugay will continue to work closely with its security partners in building safer, more peaceful, and more resilient communities for the people of the province.
The 20th founding anniversary of WESTMINCOM also provided an opportunity to recognize the contributions of its partners and stakeholders whose cooperation has supported the command's mission of maintaining peace and security across Western Mindanao.
