Titay Fire Station Welcomes New Fire Truck to Strengthen Emergency Response Operations
Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay – The Titay Municipal Fire Station (MFS) has further strengthened its firefighting and rescue capabilities with the official turnover and commissioning of its newly acquired 1,000-gallon Isuzu fire truck through a traditional Wet Down Ceremony held on July 26, 2026.
The ceremony marked the beginning of the new firefighting unit’s active service as it joins the station’s fleet in responding to emergencies and protecting the lives and properties of the people of Titay.
A recognized tradition in the fire service, the Wet Down Ceremony symbolizes the blessing, dedication, and official acceptance of a newly acquired fire apparatus before it is deployed for public service. The activity reflects the commitment of firefighters to maximize the equipment in fulfilling their mission of providing timely and effective emergency assistance to the community.

The ceremonial blessing was led by SFO4 Neil P. Siaron, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of Titay, together with SFO1 Rodgen G. Rodriguez. As water was poured over the new fire truck, the ritual represented protection, guidance, and the dedication of the apparatus to its purpose of serving the community.
The addition of the 1,000-gallon Isuzu fire truck significantly enhances the operational readiness of the Titay Municipal Fire Station. Equipped with greater water capacity and improved mobility, the unit will help firefighters respond more efficiently to fire incidents, rescue missions, and other emergency situations.
Fire officials emphasized that the new equipment will serve as an important asset in strengthening the municipality’s disaster response efforts and ensuring that emergency personnel are better equipped to address the safety needs of residents.
The acquisition was made possible through the continued support of Mayor Riorita M. Castillo and the Municipal Government of Titay, reflecting the local government’s commitment to improving public safety infrastructure and enhancing disaster preparedness programs.
With the new fire truck now officially in operation, the Titay Municipal Fire Station renewed its commitment to providing reliable and responsive emergency services to every Titayanon.
