HOFER SEEKS SENATE SUPPORT FOR KEY HEALTHCARE PROJECTS IN SIBUGAY
IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay — Governor Dulce Ann K. Hofer is seeking additional support from the national government to strengthen healthcare services in Zamboanga Sibugay, particularly through the provision of critical hospital equipment and improvements to existing medical facilities.
Hofer, accompanied by Provincial Administrator Atty. Jay Millena, recently met with Senator JV Ejercito to discuss possible funding assistance for equipment intended for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Dr. George T. Hofer Medical Center (DGTHMC).
The medical center is currently undergoing construction, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2027. The provincial government is seeking to secure the necessary ICU equipment as part of preparations to enhance the facility's capacity to provide critical medical care once the project is completed.

During the meeting, the provincial delegation also presented proposals for infrastructure development at the Alicia District Hospital and Olutanga Municipal Hospital.
The proposed projects form part of the provincial government's continuing efforts to improve healthcare facilities and expand access to medical services for residents in different parts of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Ejercito, who chairs the Senate Committee on Finance, expressed his commitment to support the province's healthcare initiatives and assist in advancing projects that could improve medical services and access to quality healthcare for Sibugaynons.
The meeting underscored the provincial government's efforts to tap national government support for major healthcare investments, particularly those that could improve the capacity of government hospitals to serve patients requiring medical and critical care.
For Governor Hofer, securing support for these projects is part of the province's continuing push to strengthen its healthcare system and ensure that its medical facilities are better equipped to respond to the needs of the people.
