PLGU-Zamboanga Sibugay Bares Festive Lineup for 25th Araw ng Zamboanga Sibugay Celebration
IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay -The provincial government has officially unveiled the highly anticipated activities for the 25th Anniversary Araw ng Zamboanga Sibugay, promising a vibrant and memorable celebration filled with culture, sports, faith, and community pride. The countdown to the province’s landmark anniversary is now underway, with events scheduled from February 16 to 26, 2026 under the theme “One Province! One People! One Grand Celebration!”.
The celebration will spotlight the rich heritage and unity of the people of Zamboanga Sibugay, also affectionately known as Sibugaynons, a community woven from diverse traditions that reflect its Christian, Muslim, and indigenous roots. The anniversary festivities will feature a blend of cultural showcases, athletic competitions, religious observances, and public service activities that highlight both the province’s vibrant identity and its ongoing development.
Cultural lovers and tourists alike can look forward to a series of performances and exhibitions that pay homage to the province’s traditions and way of life. One of the signature events traditionally linked to Zamboanga Sibugay’s founding celebrations is the Sibug-Sibug Festival, a cultural spectacle that showcases colorful street dancing, indigenous displays, and the famed Talaba Grill which this year,is pegged as Longest Line of Grilled Talaba, a symbol of the province’s distinction as a major oyster producing region in the Philippines.

With its lineup of culturally rich and engaging activities spread over ten days, the 25th Araw ng Zamboanga Sibugay aims to bring together residents and visitors in a shared experience of pride, joy, and resilience.
