Siay Tops First Judging of Booth Competition at 25th Araw ng Sibugay Agri-Trade Fair

The municipality of Siay emerged as the frontrunner in the first round of judging for the Booth Competition held in line with the 25th Araw ng Sibugay celebration, as the Agri-Trade Fair officially opened yesterday.

The much-anticipated competition, one of the highlights of the annual provincial festivity, features participating municipalities showcasing their best agricultural products, local delicacies, crafts, and cultural identity through creatively designed booths. Organizers previously announced that the Booth Competition will undergo three separate rounds of judging before the final winners are declared. Each entry is evaluated based on a comprehensive set of criteria designed to measure not only creativity and presentation but also authenticity, sustainability, and overall impact.

The criteria are as follows:

• Originality – 25%

o Reflection of Culture – 10%

o Products – 15%

• Creativity and Presentability – 25%

o Creativity – 15%

o Presentability – 10%

• Quantity and Quality – 30%

o Volume of Products Displayed – 10%

o Variety of Products Displayed – 10%

o Quality of Products Exhibited – 10%

• Impact and Sustainability – 20%

o Sustainability – 10%

o Cleanliness – 10%

This detailed scoring system ensures that participating booths reflect the rich cultural heritage of their towns while promoting high-quality, diverse, and sustainable local products.

During the first judging, Siay impressed the panel of judges with a booth that strongly reflected its cultural identity while showcasing an extensive and high-quality array of agricultural and local products. The municipality secured the top spot in the initial rankings, setting the pace for the next rounds of evaluation.

Trailing closely behind in second place was Kabasalan, followed by Titay in third. Completing the Top 5 were Naga and Alicia, both of which also delivered strong presentations that highlighted their local pride and agricultural strengths.

With two more rounds of judging ahead, competition is expected to intensify as municipalities further enhance their displays in pursuit of the championship title. The Agri-Trade Fair continues to draw visitors eager to explore the best of Sibugay’s agricultural produce and local innovations, reinforcing the province’s commitment to cultural preservation, economic growth, and sustainable development as it celebrates its 25th founding anniversary.
