Brigada Eskwela 2026 in Kulasian Promotes Greener Schools Through 150-Tree Planting Initiative
Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, June 12, 2026 - The spirit of environmental stewardship took center stage during Brigada Eskwela 2026: Bayanihan sa Paaralan – Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman at Kulasian Elementary School, where stakeholders united for a tree-planting activity aimed at creating a greener and more sustainable learning environment.
The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO)–Imelda actively participated in the initiative, with Forester Romalyn A. Gojo and Forester Paulo G. Roque leading the turnover of 150 Narra seedlings in support of the school’s environmental program, following a request from Head Teacher Rojelyn I. Abrinica.
The seedlings were planted within the school grounds through a collaborative effort involving teachers, parents, barangay officials, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel, TUPAD beneficiaries, and other community stakeholders, reflecting strong multi-sectoral cooperation.

To further enhance the school’s green spaces and environmental identity, additional makopa seedlings were also planted during the activity, reinforcing efforts to promote sustainability and ecological awareness among learners.
The initiative underscored the importance of bayanihan in advancing environmental goals, demonstrating how partnerships between government agencies, schools, and the community can transform schools into safer, greener, and more conducive spaces for learning.
Officials emphasized that activities like these extend the impact of Brigada Eskwela beyond classroom preparation, fostering environmental responsibility and long-term care for natural resources among students and the wider community.
