Fuel Subsidy Distribution Happening Today for Tricycle Drivers in Ipil

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay, April 16, 2026 - The national government, through its Fuel Subsidy Program under the TRAIN Law, is rolling out financial assistance today, for public tricycle drivers affected by the continued rise in fuel prices.

The payout, implemented in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the local government of Ipil, is currently being conducted at the Bong Go Court inside the Ipil Municipal Hall in Barangay Taway, starting at 6:00 AM.

Qualified beneficiaries include registered tricycle drivers whose franchises were active or renewed as of April 7, 2026. The subsidy aims to provide immediate relief to transport workers grappling with increasing fuel costs that have significantly impacted their daily earnings. Drivers are reminded to present their physical driver’s license along with two photocopies of a valid license to claim the assistance.

Ipil mayor Ramses Troy Olegario emphasized the importance of discipline and cooperation among beneficiaries to ensure a smooth and orderly distribution. He urged drivers to follow the designated process flow to avoid overcrowding and maintain safety at the venue.

The fuel subsidy distribution is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to ease the burden of rising fuel prices and support the livelihood of transport workers in the municipality.
