Ipil Honors Outstanding Achievers, Community Builders During 77th Araw ng Ipil Gala Night and Awards Ceremony
Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay - A night dedicated to celebrating excellence, service, and community pride highlighted the continuing success of the people of Ipil as the Local Government Unit held the Gala Night and Awarding Ceremony on July 22, 2026 at the Ipil Multi-Purpose Government Center in Taway as part of the celebration of the municipality’s 77th Araw ng Ipil.
The prestigious gathering recognized individuals, students, entrepreneurs, professionals, and community contributors whose achievements and dedication have helped bring honor and progress to the municipality.
Among the major recognitions given during the ceremony were the Ipileño Latin Honors Recognition, Tourism Excellence Awards, Top 10 Taxpayers Awards, and the highly regarded Garbo sa Ipileño Awards.
The Ipileño Latin Honors Recognition honored outstanding students who achieved academic excellence, highlighting the important role of education in shaping future leaders and strengthening the foundation of the community. Through the recognition, the LGU Ipil emphasized that perseverance, discipline, and commitment to learning are among the keys to creating a brighter future for the next generation of Ipileños.
The Tourism Excellence Awards celebrated individuals and establishments that have contributed to the growth and promotion of Ipil’s tourism sector. Through their efforts in providing quality services and developing tourism-related initiatives, these stakeholders have helped create more opportunities for local businesses and strengthened the municipality’s appeal as a destination.
The municipality also paid tribute to its Top 10 Taxpayers, recognizing their responsible compliance and contribution to local revenue generation. Their support through the payment of taxes helps sustain government programs, services, and development projects that benefit the entire Ipil community.

The highlight of the evening was the conferment of the 2026 Garbo sa Ipileño Awards, the municipality’s highest recognition given to Ipileños who have achieved distinction in their respective fields and whose accomplishments have brought pride not only to Ipil but to Zamboanga Sibugay and beyond.
This year’s awardees were:
Jekyll D. Cadungog, recognized for his professional accomplishments and contributions that reflect excellence, dedication, and the values of an outstanding Ipileño.
Atty. Dr. Cheerie Bliss G. Quinto, a lawyer and dentist, was honored for her achievements in both the legal and healthcare professions, demonstrating excellence, commitment, and service through her chosen fields.
Dr. Ernesto Jose M. Babiera II, recognized for his contributions to the medical profession and his dedication to advancing healthcare, embodying the compassion and commitment expected from a distinguished member of the community.
