IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay, April 14, 2026 - Residents of Barangay Makilas and nearby communities can now access essential healthcare services closer to home following the official opening of the Ipil Super Health Center, a development seen as a major step toward strengthening local health services.

Local officials highlighted that accessible healthcare is not a privilege but a fundamental right of every Ipileño. With the establishment of the facility, residents can now seek early consultation and treatment without having to travel far, helping prevent minor health concerns from becoming serious conditions.

The Super Health Center is set to operate from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, offering a range of services scheduled throughout the week to cater to different medical needs.

Dental services, including tooth extraction and oral examinations, are available every Monday and Thursday. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, the center provides Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) for children under five years old, along with basic first aid, medical management, emergency transport services, and teleconsultation.

Outpatient consultations are conducted every Wednesday, with a physician available on-site, subject to availability from the Rural Health Unit (RHU). The facility is expected to significantly improve early diagnosis and treatment, particularly for families in Makilas and surrounding barangays.

The local government also welcomed the addition of a new public dentist, Dr. Roderick Montoya, whose presence is expected to further enhance dental care services within the community.

Residents visiting the health center are reminded to continue observing basic health protocols, including wearing face masks, to ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare workers.

The Local Government Unit of Ipil expressed its gratitude to the Provincial Government of Zamboanga Sibugay for its strong support in the establishment of the facility, particularly in ensuring that it is fully operational, including the provision of electricity.

Officials emphasized that the opening of the Super Health Center reflects the LGU’s continuing commitment to improving healthcare delivery, reaching more communities, and building a healthier and more resilient population.

Ipil Mayor Ramses Troy Olegario disclosed, “With services now closer to the people, early care becomes more accessible, leading to stronger, healthier communities”.
