Mr. Iligan Crowned First-Ever Mister Zamboanga Sibugay

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay -Sibugaynons witnessed a historic evening as the first-ever Mister Zamboanga Sibugay 2026 crowned its inaugural titleholder during Coronation Night held on February 20, 2026, at the Atrium of the Provincial Capitol in Ipil.

After a night filled with confidence, charisma, and undeniable excellence, Julius Paquiangan of Iligan City was proclaimed the Grand Winner, earning the distinction of becoming the very first Mister Zamboanga Sibugay.

Securing the First Runner-Up title was James Howard Saldia of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, whose strong stage presence and consistent performance throughout the competition brought pride to his hometown. Juvi Buyoc of Southern Leyte was named Second Runner-Up, completing the roster of top winners in what many described as a highly competitive and memorable inaugural edition.

The coronation program, which began at 7:00 PM, last night, February 20, was open to the public with free admission, drawing supporters from various municipalities and neighboring areas to witness the historic crowning moment.

Prior to the coronation night, candidates underwent the crucial Closed Door Interview segment on February 19. This phase allowed the distinguished panel of judges to evaluate the contestants beyond physical appearance focusing on intelligence, authenticity, communication skills, advocacies, and their vision as ambassadors of Zamboanga Sibugay.

During the interview, candidates shared their perspectives on social issues, tourism development, cultural preservation, and their commitment to representing the province with integrity and purpose. Organizers described the exchange as inspiring, highlighting the depth, passion, and leadership potential of the participants.

Five outstanding candidates were also recognized during this segment with the Best in Arrival Outfit award, receiving sashes and cash prizes for making a strong and stylish first impression. Serving as members of the panel of judges were Atty. Wejel L. Chiong, Dr. Michael Angelo Filoteo, and Provincial Accountant Deo Marchu Daguio, whose professionalism and expertise ensured a credible and high-standard selection process.

The successful staging of Mister Zamboanga Sibugay 2026 marks the beginning of a new chapter for the provincepr, oviding a platform for young men to showcase leadership, advocacy, and pride in culture. With its first titleholder now crowned, the pageant sets a promising foundation for future editions that aim to celebrate excellence, unity, and the spirit of Sibugay.
